“Reminding Generations of their Queendom, One Lesson at a Time”
Our Story
Girls That Rock was born out of frustration and determination. After facing life’s hardships without the knowledge or tools to navigate potential solutions, our founder turned to the adults in their life for guidance. Time and again, it became evident that these adults possessed insights and lessons they assumed life would teach in due time. Dissatisfied with this approach, our founder began journaling the lessons they wished had been taught. What started as a personal endeavor transformed into a collection of lesson plans, and before long, a program had taken shape.
In 2016, Girls That Rock officially launched with the mission of supporting young women on their journey toward confidence. Guided by core values of respect, leadership, teamwork, perseverance, education, and community service, our program stands as a beacon of hope and guidance. Our vision statement, “Reminding young women of their queendom, one lesson at a time,” reflects our belief in the transformative power of mentorship. By encouraging young women to dream big, guiding them through planning and execution, and rewarding their progress, we build trust in their ability to make decisions that lead to success and increased confidence.
By applying the SMART goal-setting method to real-world tasks such as college and job applications, financial planning, networking, organization, and time management, Girls That Rock equips young women with lifelong tools for success. Participants describe the program as “a great and helpful environment” where they not only learn the foundations of SMART goals but also develop the habits needed to achieve any goal.
